Dear Editor,

Major highways linking three main largest cities of Afghanistan – Kabul, Kandahar and Herat successfully reconstructed under "Afghanistan Road Initiative" in 2002 which of has made commuting quicker and comfortable in above mentioned routes. This accomplished task is an obvious sign of development; however the level of development can be estimated if we view the major routes in Kabul city and its back street.

Let's ignore the back streets for a while, there are many crowded roads have been under construction from long period of time but still remained incomplete which resulting huge public frustration, especially in rush hours. In addition to frustration due to huge traffic jamming, it's causing huge health problems suffering travelers, pedestrians and bystanders' digestive and breathing system.

I request the highway authorities not to destroy roads constructed in the past until you unable to draw a timely dead line completing road constructions which is a very significant milestone to allow and improve economic growth, security, and political integration. Otherwise refurnishing main highways which are entirely initiated to ease military logistics transportation is not development.
