Dear Editor,
Any given day in the towns and cities of Afghanistan, tens of thousands of children head to the streets to beg and hawk sundries, even during this hot weather.
These street kids, who earn on average less than 100 a day, are often the only means of support for their families. And their numbers are growing day by day.
These children are economically forced due to demostic problems and lack of a bread winner in the family to turn to the streets and beg in order to feed their hunger brothers, sisters and their helpless mothers.
They are deprived from schools and other crude facilities that a child must own, and they are completely out of education, which can guarantee.
Every where one can see the small kids are covering all the legal and illegal activities in Kabul city, walking in the dirty sanitations for a piece of metal and cooper.
These innocent children for the whole day cleaning the cars and collecting plastics from the garbages and asking for "khairat" without proper cloths and boots, begging in a hungry stomach for the whole day to get one AF in order their family members don't sleep hungry.
They rap on the windows of the cars stopped at traffic jams, demanding the occupants buy chewing gum, and some cleaning the cars for one or two AFs.
Of course, they are the children of whose fathers sacrificed their lives to death during the war to fight Taliban, to fight for justice, for our rights not for anything else, just for us and safe this country. But today nobody, even the government even is ready to make a proper plane for these child beggars who are in touchy conditions.
It is the sole responsibility of the government to do something for their future.
Best Regards
