Environment is Getting Messier

Dear Editor,
The environment pollution in Afghanistan specifically Kabul and other large cities has reached its peak question the performance of concerned organizations of government like Directorate of Environmental Protection and Provincial Municipalities.

Our environment is full of pollution and the bad news is that the problem has increased by the passage of time rather than decreasing. More and more vehicles are allowed to enter Kabul without proper planning for increasing traffic problems. Majority of the people do not maintain their vehicles well that produce clouds of smoke in the city and the Traffic Directorate does not care.

There are also large amounts of garbage in the streets of Kabul. These are the main sources of diseases. The government is not to sleep like a log.

If government can not solve basic issues of its people, how could it be successful to achieve greater national objectives.

With warmest regards
Mohammad Ali Awong
