Meshrano Jirga to  Summon Security Officials

KABUL - During the Meshrano Jirga session on Tuesday, most of the Senators expressed their concerns over the security situation in the country and preferred to summon security officials to brief the house during the next week’s session.

Ali Akbar Jamshedi, a representative from central Daikundi province, said security at country’s vital highways had been deteriorated dramatically. He said security officials should brief the house about the overall law and order in the country.

Mohammad Daud Hasas, another representative from southern Zabul province, said insecurity graph’s surged in recent days and security officials did not take notice of the grim situation.

The public works deputy minister had been kidnapped from Kabul city with no knowledge on his whereabouts, he informed.

Unidentified gunmen abducted Ahmad Shah Waheed, the public works deputy minister, on April 13 from the 11th police district in Kabul city.

Sayyed Farukh Shah Jinab, Meshrano Jirga secretary, said security had been plummeted in northern Faryab province and other parts of the country. He directed the security officials to accelerate their efforts to control the tide of insecurity elsewhere in the country.

Chairing Meshrano Jirga today’s session, first deputy Mohammad Alam Ezidyar, said insecurity had witnessed record surge throughout the country. He said Interior Minister Mohammad Omar Daudzai and National Directorate of Security (NDS) acting head Rahmatullah Nabil would be summoned to brief the house on security during next week session.

Of 53 Senators, 42 vote in favour to summon the security officials to update the house on latest situation in line with law and order in the country. (Pajhwok)
