FEFA Registers 26 Election Violations in 24 Provinces

KABUL - Twenty six cases of election violations have been reported from various parts of the country since the beginning of the election campaigns, the Free and Fair Election Foundation of Afghanistan (FEFA) said on Thursday.

According to FEFA, the violations include misuse of government institutions and resources, the presence and participation of governors and ministers in the election campaigns and the installation of billboards and pictures on unapproved locations.

"In some provinces, security threats have left negative impacts on election campaigns," FEFA Chairman Jandad Spinghar said. "There are indications that government officials participated in campaigns and government resources were misused."

FEFA has demanded national and international election supervising bodies and security institutions to prevent riggings and violations in the elections. (Tolonews)
