Pakistan to Continue  Support for Stable, Peaceful Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD - President of Pakistan, Mamnoon Hussain, on Friday said that Pakistan would continue to support all efforts aimed at a peaceful, stable and united Afghanistan, said an official press release.

The President while talking to Pakistan's Ambassador-designate to Afghanistan, Syed Ibrar Hussain, in the federal capital Islamabad, said that an inclusive, Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process is vital for the peace and stability in Afghanistan. The ambassador-designate discussed with the President matters pertaining to his new diplomatic assignment in Afghanistan.

The President urged the Ambassador to focus on further strengthening Pakistan's relations with Afghanistan. The President said that Pakistan values its bilateral ties with Afghanistan and reiterated that Pakistan was committed to build a friendly and good-neighborly relationship with Afghanistan as stable and cooperative ties serve the interests of both countries and the region.

President Mamnoon urged the Ambassador to work with all segments of the society including the Afghan government, the business community, civil society, academia and media personalities to further strengthen the positive momentum generated in bilateral relations, the release added.  (KUNA)
