KABUL - President Hamid Karzai on Saturday chaired a consultative meeting with the participation of Afghan Security in charges and discussed issues pertaining to retirement of national army generals who have completed their term of office. The meeting held at the presidential palace, Defense Minister, General Bismillah Mohammadi, presented a brief report on the law regulating affairs about army officers and the generals who have reached the age of retirement.

He said that those generals of national army who would be retired, their retirement pension would be paid.

The meeting decided that the law in this respect should be applied.  The meeting also decided that the ministry of defense according to their needs can employ the retire general as advisor and their respective professional, in order their knowledge and experience to be used in relevant aspects.

First Vice-President, Marshal Mohammad Qasim Fahim, Second Vice-President, Mohammad Karim Khalili, National Security Advisor, Dr. Rangin Dadfar Spanta and Interior Minister, General Ghulam Mujtaba Patang were also present at the meeting. (BNA)
