Karzai Hopes New Pak Govt. to Help Fight Terror

KABUL - President Hamid Karzai on Sunday telephoned Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) chief Mian Nawaz Sharif and congratulated him his “clear victory” in the elections.

Karzai described Sharif’s campaign messages as good for the well-being of the neighboring countries and improved relations between them, a statement from the Presidential Palace said.

He hoped bilateral relations between the two countries would improve under Nawaz Sharif as new prime minister, and that Pakistan would cooperate with Afghanistan in the fight against terrorism.

Thanking Karzai for the call, Sharif said since the start of his electoral campaign, he had in his messages and statements friendship and cooperation with Afghanistan. (Pajhwok)
