KABUL - President Hamid Karzai has appointed Sibghatullah Mujaddedi as head of a preparatory commission for an upcoming Loya Jirga on strategic cooperation with the US. The traditional jirga would be held to take a decision on signing the strategic cooperation pact between Afghanistan and the US, a government-run news agency reported on Sunday. Mujaddedi, the former chairman of the Meshrano Jirga, has been tasked with leading the preparatory body, Bakhtar said. Leading the Afghan National Liberation Front, he was named as president in 1992.
