CJ Calls on WB Chief in Afghanistan

KABUL – Afghan Chief Justice (CJ) Abdul Salam Azimi called on Robert Jisham, World Bank’s (WB) country director to Afghanistan, in Kabul.

In the meeting, according to sources with the Supreme Court, the World Bank official said that the projects of judiciary, which had been supported by the WB, had been completed and the WB is satisfied with the achievements made under CJ Azimi.

Meantime, the CJ in the meeting stressed for establishing modern judiciary system, administrative reforms and capacity building and improving prisons.

Accepting the WB officials, the CJ stated the joint conference of the justice and judiciary bodies will be held in a proper time to review and evaluate the projects and coordinate with the bank.

Member of the apex court, Abdul Malik Kamawi was also present in the meeting. (BNA)
