Security Directed to Stop Foreigners from Entering Educational Institutes

KABUL - The President Hamid Karzai has directed the security forces to stop the foreign troops from entering into educational institutes, his office said Sunday.

A president's office press release stated the foreign forces and their unofficial Afghan partners recently tortured and arrested students at some institutes which is against the existing agreements with the foreigners.

The president has asked the security forces to take legal action against the foreign forces if they tried to enter education institutes.

Terming such actions against the rules of the country, the president said: "The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan terms such actions by foreign forces and their unofficial Afghan partners against the national sovereignty and existing rules of Afghanistan and asks the leadership of the international coalition to avoid repeating defying the national sovereignty of Afghanistan."

"If the coalition forces ever enter universities and other education institutes, the security forces of the country shall take prompt legal action," the president said. (Monitoring Desk)
