New Changes in Herat, Haji Deen Mohammad Appointed as Governor

KABUL - Reports say, Dr. Dawood Shah Saba, has resigned from the post of Herat governor and Haji Deen Mohammad would soon take his seat.

A member of national assembly, on the condition of anonymity told Bokhdi News Agency that Afghan president has accepted resignation of Dr. Dawood Shah Saba on Sunday.

Previously, Haji Deen Mohammad was governor of Kabul and Karzai`s nominee for the Ministry of frontiers and tribal Affairs.
Herat is one of the key provinces in the country which has been witnessing social-security problems in recent months.

Last week, kidnappers brutally killed Ali Seena, son of a businessman in the province which raised public reactions
Meanwhile, Mohayudding Noori, provincial spokesperson says that the governor had earlier appealed reforms in the province.
Saba was a critic of the current satiation prevailed in the province and through a letter to the presidential palace has mentioned that his position as governor in the province was not effective anymore to the system.

Herat provincial spokesperson says Mr. Saba had raised the issue of administrative reforms in the province.

He (provincial spokesperson) denies resignation of governor, but added Dr. Saba`s appeals in bringing reforms has been ignored.
It is said that one of the appeals made by Dr. Saba in regard to dismissal of provincial mayor, Saleem Taraki, was ignored by the government.
