300 School Girls Poisoned  in Three Consecutive Days

KABUL - As many as 100 school girls were poisoned in northern Sar-e-Pul province on Monday morning, local security officials said.
The incident occurred in Rahmat Abad high school in the capital of the province, the country's northern 303 Pamir Police Zone spokesman Lal Mohammad Ahmadzai said.

The girls, aged between 7 and 18, have been taken to a nearby hospital in the city while police have started investigating the incident, he told Tolonews.

According to local officials, in the past three days nearly 300 hundreds schools girls at three schools have been poisoned in the province.

No group has been claimed responsibility for the incident.

Previously the Afghan government claimed that the Taliban were behind the spate of poisonings at girls' schools, but the Taliban has rejected the claim and threatened to punish anyone found involved in the poisonings. (Tolo News)
