Etisalat Afghanistan Holds Annual Quran Recitation Competition

Kabul - Etisalat Afghanistan, the first company to launch 3.75G services in Afghanistan has held Annual Quran Recitation Competition 2012. Etisalat Afghanistan is organizing the Quran Recitation Competition for the 5th year running in collaboration with Ministry of Hajj & Awqaf and Ministry of Information and Culture, Government of Afghanistan.

Qari Inayatullah Abdul Khalil was declared the winner of this year's Etisalat Afghanistan Annual Quran Recitation Competition who shall now be representing Afghanistan in the Holy Quran Awards (The Biggest Quran recitation contest all over the world), held every year in Dubai during Ramadan.

The closing ceremony of Etisalat Afghanistan Annual Quran Recitation Competition 2012, held in Kabul was attended by large audiences including Deputy Minister for Hajj & Awqaf, Mr. Abdul Hakeem Muneeb, Deputy Minister for Information & Culture, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Farahi, Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Mohammad Shafiq Samim, Deputy Head of Peace Commission Afghanistan Atta ullah Lodin, Chief Marketing Officer, Etisalat Afghanistan, Mr. Yasser Aboul Amayem, Afghanistan Parliament Members, Foreign Diplomats, various high- level Government officials and members of media fraternity.

The competition which started on June 13, 2012 in Kabul was supervised by the panel of Judges comprising of senior officials of Ministry of Hajj & Awqaf, Government of Afghanistan.
Qaris under the age of 21 participated in this year's competition from all regions and provinces of Afghanistan.

Mr. Abdul Hakeem Muneeb, Deputy Minister of Hajj & Awqaf stated during the ceremony, "I would like to congratulate Etisalat for organizing this Holy Quran event in Afghanistan for so many years which highlights their vision and roots for the promotion of Islamic values and traditions, indeed important to Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and to Afghans specifically."

Mr. Ghulam Nabi Farahi, Deputy Minister of Culture & Information, speaking at the ceremony said, "We are delighted to work with Etisalat every year for facilitation and promotion of Holy Quran Awards in Afghanistan. Today's winner of this Etisalat Holy Quran Competition, Qari Inayatullah Abdul Khalil will be sent officially by Government of Afghanistan to represent our country in the biggest Islamic Competition in Dubai during upcoming month of Ramadan."

Mr. Yasser Aboul Amayem, Chief Marketing Officer, Etisalat Afghanistan while speaking at the ceremony said, "Being a United Arab Emirates Company, we stand committed in our resolve to promote Islamic culture and values in Afghanistan and realize the importance of Quran and all areas important to Afghans and the society."

Etisalat Afghanistan represented by Mr. Yasser Aboul Amayem, Chief Marketing Officer awarded cash award of USD 5000 to Mr. Inayatullah Abdul Khalil (Kundoz province) for winning the 1st prize of this year's competition.

Mr. Masihullah son of Muhammad Muslim, who hails from Panjsher province of Afghanistan was awarded USD 3000 for securing 2nd position in the final standings. Mr. Seqdiqullah son of Naimatullah from Ghazni province secured the 3rd position and was awarded prize of USD 2000 .

The winners were also given honorary shields for participation in this event by Etisalat Afghanistan as well as the panel of Judges.
