Haji Mohammad Mohaqiq: Decentralized Govt. System Best Solution

BAMYAN CITY - The Afghanistan National Front (ANF) leader on Wednesday described the government as incompetent and a decentralized system would solve the ongoing crisis in the country.
Speaking at the first death anniversary of provincial council head, Mohammad Jawad Zahak in Bamyan city on Wednesday, the ANF member, Haji Mohammad Mohaqiq urged the government to ensure social justice for the people.

Zahak was killed by rebels after his was kidnapped from the Ghorband valley of central Parwan province last year.
He said a weak and incompetent government was unable to resolve problems confronting the people.

"A decentralized system of government was the only solution to help rescue Afghanistan from the ongoing crisis," he said.
Over the past decade, the current administration had failed to ensure social justice prevailed and could not even implement the decree of the president.

While pointing to disputes between Hazara and Kochi tribes in Behsud and Daimirdad districts of Maidan Wardak province, he said President Hamid Karzai ordered a resettlement for the communities three years ago, but the problems yet to be solved.

Rallies would be carried out and civic movements initiated in all provinces to seek social justice if the problems between Kochi and Hazara tribes remained unresolved, Mohaqiq warned.

Governor Habiba Surabi, who was present at the event, said: "Jawad Zahak was cowardly assassinated by foreign agents, they target people who always raised the voice of Bamyan people and conveyed to the government."
Speaking at the occasion, daughter of the late Zahak, Fareshta Zahak, said her father's murders had not been identified yet and urged the government to punish those involved. (Pajhwok)
