PUL-I-ALAM - The top NATO commander in Afghanistan on Monday underlined the need for enhanced coordination among Afghan security forces.
International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) Commander Gen. John R. Allen issued the call during a visit to central Logar province, where he met ISAF troops and local officials.

"We have tried and will continue try to strengthen Afghan forces in Logar," he said, hopping that Afghan forces would continue to grow and forge better coordination with their ISAF partners.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Tahir Khan Sabari said Gen. Allen's visit showed the international community's focus on the province. He called Logar a strategic region where security forces had to be strengthened.
Meanwhile, appreciation certificates were awarded to 45 Afghan security personnel, including officers, who bravely thwarted a recent Taliban attack.
