Dostum to Welcome Molla Omar, Haqani with Flowers if they Renounce Violence

KABUL - Junbish-i-Milli party leader Abdul Rashid Dostum on Sunday voiced his party's support to the peace negotiations with the Taliban, saying he would welcome Mullah Omar and Sirajuddin Haqqani with flowers if they lay down their weapon and renounce violence.

Addressing a conference participated by senior members of National Front of Afghanistan and a US congressional team, the Uzbek leader said the Taliban would continue to face residence until they stopped the violence.
He said the Taliban should not think the resistance against them would stop with removal of some opponents.

"I ask all parties to the conflict, including Mullah Omar and Haqqani, to join the peace process and stop killing their brothers and destroying Afghanistan," he said. They added if the Taliban will try to retake power with violence they people of Afghanistan will resist and defend their homeland.

Answering a question Dostum said that National Front is a strong political with no cracks in the line of its leadership. He said we are fighting for a noble cause and will remain united till the last (Pajhwok/OT)
