International Aid to ANSF, Main Topic at Tokyo Conference

KABUL - The Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday said that International Support to Afghanistan and Financing Afghan National Security Forces will be the main subject to be discussed at Tokyo Conference.
A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, Janan Musazai, said that Afghan government is trying very hard to attract long-term international support.

Tokyo conference will be held on 5th July this year and members of international community will attend it.

"We hope Tokyo Conference could be an opportunity to win international political and financial support for another decade," he added.
"One of the major discussions could be spending international aid through the government budget and considering priorities," Musazai said.

ISAF role in training of Afghan Security forces and supplying logistics will be vital and Afghan government will emphasize on their role, the ministry added.

All Foreign Combat troops will be pulled out of Afghanistan by the end of 2014.
Meanwhile, Pentagon officials recently said that despite financial crisis, the international community should build a strong Afghan force to be able to protect their country from insurgency and other threats.

The Unite States will spend around $12b to train and supply Afghan Security Forces. The International community expects the Afghan forces to increase to 355,000 by end of 2014.
As predicted by the United States, the expenses of Afghan National Security Forces reaches $6b for next year and urged the world to contribute $1b of the sum. (Tolo News)
