Peace Talks will Not Have Positive Result: Gen. Dostum

KABUL - A key opposition leader, Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum, says peace talks will not have positive results as the 'Taliban are not honest'.
General Dostum, who is visiting Germany, said that the Taliban group was making efforts to regroup by the end of 2014 when all foreign troops are expected to leave Afghanistan.

Dostum criticizes peace talks with the Taliban at a time when the group has agreed to have a political office in Qatar to hold direct talks with the US.

The Afghan government has emphasized that any talks with anti-government armed groups must be led by Afghans, otherwise desired results would not be achieved.

Meanwhile, the Afghan High Peace Council has said it has not been officially notified about the Taliban's Qatar office.
