KABUL - European Union (EU) Special Representative for Afghanistan Ronald Kobia has renewed the union’s commitment to supporting republican values, long-term democratic efforts and human rights in Afghanistan, according to a statement from the Presidential Palace.
In recognition of Kobia’s efforts for Afghanistan-EU cordial relationship, establishment of peace and attracting more assistance and cooperation for Afghanistan, the president bestowed Kobia with Ghazi Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan medal, the statement said.
During his tenure in Afghanistan, Ghani hailed Kobia’s efforts for peace and thanked him for continued support to Afghanistan.
Kobia hailed being honored with the state medal and termed president Ghani’s stance for durable peace, protection of democratic values based on principles.
He renewed support to Afghanistan peace in which women, children and youth rights were protected. (Pajhwok)
