Recent JIA Convention  Unacceptable: Ismael Khan

HERAT CITY - Former jihadi commander Ismael Khan on Monday said the recent Jamiat-e-Islami Afghanistan (JIA) party convention was not real and unacceptable to senior party members.
Khan termed the even as personal and called on JIA members to boycott latest developments in the party by some members.
The former water and energy minister said before the launch of JIA convention by Atta Mohammad Noor in Kabul, he strived to prevent the event and create cracks in the party, but no side listened to him
The recent convention was planned to be dedicated to peace but the decision was changed.
Ismael Khan alleged some people invited to the convention were not members of JIA, adding that they were invited to the event personally.
He said after the Turkey Conference, efforts would be made to recall the JIA convention again.
The former minister also expressed his reservations over the on-going peace efforts between the Taliban and Government and said US Special Representative for Afghan Peace Process Zalmay Khalilzad did not visit Herat to listen to the people of Western Zone regarding peace.
Over 10 million population of the country lived in the western zone, he added. (Pajhwok)
