Mesharano Jirga Decides to Summon Security Bosses Next Week

KABUL - Some Meshrano Jirga members on Sunday accused security institutions for not being able to prevent target killings and demanded security bosses to be summoned next week to the house.
Sayed Safiullah Hashami, a lawmaker from northern Balkh province, said that Mohammad Hassan Hotak, a former senator and an advisor to President, was killed in the 5th police district of Kabul City last week, saying, “How others would feel safe when a presidential advisor is not safe.”
According the Kabul police headquarters that a national trader was killed by thieves in the limit of 5th police district of Kabul today while same incidents were happing in the capital city these days particularly in the above police district.
Hashimi added, “People have been in deep tension about the current security situation thus security officials should be called to the house next week.”
Mohammad Hasham Alokozai, another senator from Helmand province, said: “Not only in Kabul but in no area of the country a person can feel himself safe as all highways have been also insecure and laws of the Taliban could be implemented at most of the highways.”
He also accused the security officials for negligence in duty to protect the people’s properties, saying the Taliban have customs on the outskirts of highways and freely walking there.
A number of others senators expressed similar views on the issue and said security officials should be summoned to the house by next week.
Fazal Hadi Muslimyar, the speaker of Meshrano Jirga, said that the security officials’ negligence in their duty cased the increases of insecurity in capital Kabul.
He tasked the security and defense affairs commissions of the Jirga to take note of the incompetence of the security officials so that a decision can be made about them.”
He said security officials to be summoned to the general session of the house by next week to answer the questions of the lawmakers as the ongoing security situation could not be more tolerable for them. (Pajhwok)
