Mamundzay Hails India as  Generous Neighbour

KABUL - Afghanistan’s new ambassador in New Delhi has hailed India as a generous neighbour and traditional friend of his country.
In a series of tweets on Friday, Ambassador Farid Mamundzay promised he would always uphold the friendship between Afghanistan and India.
"I am honored & humbled to have been designated as the new Afghan ambassador to India, a traditional and historic friend of Afghanistan,” he wrote.
Mamundzay called India a generous neighbour that had stood with Afghanistan in difficult times and had “shared its bread with us."
He vowed to further strengthen Afghanistan’s relations with India at all levels. “I am thrilled to represent Afghanistan on this critical mission together with a wonderful team."
Mamundzay also thanked President Ashraf Ghani and Foreign Minister Mohammed Haneef Atmar for reposing trust in him.
He has served as senior political advisor to the National Security Council, deputy head of the Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG). (Pajhwok)
