President Ghani Warns of ‘Second Wave’ of Coronavirus in Afghanistan

KABUL - President Ashraf Ghani has warned that the threat of a “second wave” of coronavirus in Afghanistan should not be ignored.
The president said this in a ceremony to sign a contract for procurement of medical equipment and medicines needed for the fight against coronavirus and a contract for building 10 hospitals for treatment of patients suffering from the disease.
The hospitals, with total capacity of 750 beds, are expected to be built in 10 provinces of the country within five months. Daikundi (100), Zabul (100), Ghor (100), Faryab (100), Helmand (100), Uruzgan (50), Badghis (50), Paktia (50), Sar-i-Pul (50), Samangan (50).
The contracts are valued 40 million US dollars, which will be financed by the Asian Development Bank.
The hospitals will be built by the National Development Company. (1TV NEWS)
