CHAGHCHARAN - A photo exhibition -- "New Afghanistan through Afghan Eyes" -- was held in the western province of Ghor, officials said on Sunday. The exhibition was organized on Saturday afternoon by the Photojournalism Center, with financial support from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the US Embassy in Kabul.

Arranged at the Department of Information and Culture, the exhibition showcased photos from different parts of the country, provincial manger of the centre, Basir Seerat, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

More than 140 photographs highlighting social, economic and security were displayed to draw people's attention to the effects of war and insecurity and campaign for development and peace in Afghanistan, he said."

As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words, so our photographers tried to take photographs reflecting life in Afghanistan," Seerat added. A writer and poet, Babi Saqi, who visited the exhibition, said the photos mirrored the problems of the Afghan people and officials should try to provide solutions.
