Taliban Shares Violence  Reduction Plan with Govt

KABUL - Taliban have shared their plan for reduction of violence with the Afghan government, said a statement on Wednesday.
Minister of State Ministry for Peace Abdul Salam Rahimi met America’s Deputy Ambassador Karen Decker and peace and reconciliation head Dante Paradiso.
The statement said developments in the Afghan peace process and issues related to Doha negotiations were discussed during the meeting.
Referring to Doha talks, Rahimi said any decision on the fate of Taliban prisoners was to be taken by the government and work was underway on necessary and effective steps in this regard.
Rahimi said his ministry was striving to further straighten political consensus on the peace process.
On Tuesday, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo informed President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Abdullah that Taliban had agreed to significant reduction in violence.
Ghani and Abdullah welcomed progress in the US-Taliban peace negotiations. (Pajhwok)
