Afghan Students to be Evacuated  from Coronavirus-Infected Wuhan

KABUL - Haroon Chakhansuri, who is also deputy foreign minister for political affairs, also instructed that all available resources should be used to address the needs of Afghan students in Wuhan city, according to a statement issued by the foreign ministry.
Chairing an emergency meeting on delivering urgent assistance to Afghan citizens and students in Wuhan, Chakhansuri instructed the relevant authorities to take comprehensive measures in this regard in coordination with Afghan embassy in Beijing, Public Health Ministry, Higher Education Ministry and China’s embassy in Kabul.
He issued instructions on the evacuation of 62 Afghan students in Wuhan city through air and land.
The coronavirus has been spreading and has infected at least 1,975 people in China and killing at least 56 of Sunday morning, according to Chinese state media – the vast majority of them in Wuhan and surrounding Hubei province.
Earlier on Sunday, Afghan Ambassador to China Javid Ahmad Qaem said that no Afghan students had contracted the virus. (1TV NEWS)
