Chahar Dara Residents Seek Reconstruction Schemes

Chahar Dara Residents Seek Reconstruction Schemes

KUNDUZ CITY - Not a single development project has been implemented in the Chahar Dara district of northern Kunduz province over the past 10 years, residents complain.
Ahmad Shah, an inhabitant of Chahar Dara, told Pajhwok Afghan News many areas of the district had been under Taliban’s control this past decade.
“Residents of Chahar Dara come to the Provincial Council on a daily basis and speak of the problems they face. We share their issues with higher-ups, but to no avail,” he added.
In response to the complaints, Hafizullah Safi, the district’s administrative chief, said conflict was the reason behind the inadequate work done in the district. But a number of projects were currently being implemented, he explained.
“Six projects are underway to harness river water. Four schools are under construction. A water supply scheme for 600 families is being executed and three mosques are being built,” he concluded. (Pajhwok)
