NATO Chief Postpones  Afghanistan Visit

KABUL - NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has postponed a planned visit to Afghanistan due to recent developments in the region, according to a statement issued by Afghan President Ashraf Ghani's office following a phone call between them.
Stoltenberg apologized to Ghani for failing to visit Afghanistan as planned, but he said that he would undertake the trip in an appropriate time.
The sides discussed NATO’s commitment to support Afghan security forces, peace process as well as the elimination of terrorist sanctuaries.
They said that ensuring security and stability in Afghanistan and the region would be impossible unless the problem of terrorist sanctuaries in the region is resolved.
They agreed to discuss in detail strategic issues and Afghanistan’s cooperation with NATO during their meeting in Kabul. (1TV NEWS)
