3 Senior Officials Referred to WJ for Trust Vote

KABUL - Three individuals picked for senior government positions have been introduced to the Wolesi Jirga, lower house of Parliament, for a trust vote, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Hamayun Azizi said on Tuesday. Eng. Rahmatullah Nabil has been recommended for the National Directorate of Security (NDS) chief, Noorullah Dilawari for Da Afghanistan Bank governor and Ustad Munir Danish as member of the Commission to Monitor Implementation of Constitution.

The minister told a news conference that documents of the three candidates were sent to the Wolesi Jirga Secretariat a month ago. The vote of confidence would take place next week, he said.

In response to a query, the minister said remaining cabinet pick would be introduced to the lawmakers for the trust vote ahead of the winter recess.

Rahmatullah Nabil, who was confirmed as a NDS director based on President Hamid Karzai's nomination, has held different governmental positions.

Currently the Afghanistan Investment Support Agency (AISA) head, Norullah Dilawari has previously worked as Da Afghanistan Bank's director-general.
