DAYKUNDI - Officials in the Interior Ministry have, reportedly, said that comprehensive counter-Taliban operations aimed at cracking down the Taliban militants has begun in Kajaran district of Daykundi.
The ministry said in a statement, “Since a week back, Afghan security and defense forces have been conducting a series of counter-Taliban operations aimed to crack down the Taliban and create a safe environment for the residents of Daikundi province.”
The statement added, in addition to leaving casualties to the Taliban, several villages in the Kajaran district have also been cleared of the group.
The statement further said, the operations have been going on in the villages of Padgag, Sang Heidarbig and Baladasht areas of Kajaran district and, reportedly, 22 land mines have been discovered and neutralized so far. (TKG)
