JALALABAD - Construction of a passenger terminal building was inaugurated on Tuesday at the Torkham township in eastern Nangarhar province. The nearly 23 million afghanis project is funded by China.
The provincial media center in a statement said work on the terminal was launched at a special ceremony at the Torkham township.
Nangarhar sectorial services head Fazli Rabi Hamim said the two-storey terminal was being constructed on 450 square meter area. He said the terminal would facilitate 250 passengers at one time.
The building would have rooms where 120 officials could stay at night if necessary and there would be many facilities for passengers.
Meanwhile, the Road Maintenance and Observation department of Torkham Township put into service a newly constructed four kilometer road. The road cost above one million afghanis. (Pajhwok)
