HERAT ─ Local officials in Herat province have reported an armed attack on a vehicle of security forces in Zenda Jan district of the province.
The governor’s spokesperson, Jilani Farhad, told TKG that the militants attacked a vehicle of security forces in Rigi area of Zanda Jan district this morning [December 31, 2019], leaving one soldier killed.
Earlier, there were reports that the attack took place on the vehicle of Herat National Security Officer, but Mr. Farhad issued a denial of the reports.
No militant group has so far claimed the responsibility for the attack. (TKG)
