IECC Urged to Ensure Neutrality in Addressing Complaints

KABUL - The Alliance of Political Parties for Afghanistan’s Solvation, on Thursday stressed over the neutrality of the Independent Electoral Complaint Commission (IECC) and demanded the protection of public votes.
The Alliance Head Shah Mahmood Popal while addressing a press conference asked the IECC to act neutrally and address complaints in line with the law.
He demanded justice from the IECC and stressed that the State Builder team earned 60 percent votes but the Independent Election Commission (IEC) announced its total votes just above 50 percent.
A resolution passed by the alliance says the IECC is tasked to protect the votes of the people and refrain from unnecessary invalidation of votes.
They also welcomed efforts for peace and reconciliation and hoped for the creation of a joint government and political forces delegation for intra Afghan talks.
They said that democracy and republic was their red lines and basic demands of the people and no one should comprise on them during talks. (Pajhwok)
