FARAH CITY - For the first time a poultry feed factory has been opened in Farah City, the capital of western Farah province, an official said.
Farah province in the west of the country have most of poultry farms where thousands tonnes of food is produced and exported to nearby provinces.
Mohammad Saleh, in charge of the factory, said the factory has the capacity to produce 360 tonnes of poultry feed daily where 30 person had been recruited to work.
He said the factory had been established by investing $500,000 and raw materials for the factory had been purchased from local farmers.
Governor Mohammad Shoiab Sabet welcomed the investment of Farah businessman and asked poultry farms owner to buy poultry feed from this factory.
Agriculture Director Abdul Manan Matin said currently the poultry feed demand was met from Iran and Pakistan the quality of which is lower than the one being produced in the factory. (Pajhwok)
