KABUL - Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, Alice Wells, urged the Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) to fully address the complaints of presidential candidates.
She encouraged the Electoral Complaints Commission to give the process a successful end, and urged the presidential candidates to respect the decisions of the electoral commissions.
Wells added, the United States has welcomed the announcement of the preliminary results of the presidential elections in Afghanistan and thanked the Independent Election Commission for their tireless efforts during the process.
The preliminary results of the presidential elections were announced on Sunday, that reportedly were not accepted by Abdullah Abdullah, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, Rahmatullah Nabil, Abdul Latif Pedram and some other candidates. (THE KILLID GROUP)
