KABUL - The Afghan National Army (ANA) will participate for the first time in a major military exercise in Turkey, says the Ministry of Defense.
The decision came at a meeting between Deputy Minister Munera Yosufzada and her Turkish counterpart Yunus Emre Karaosmanoglu in Ankara.
A statement from MoD said on Saturday the two officials discussed achievements and challenges of ANA trainees based in Turkey and the treatment of the injured military personnel in Turkish hospitals.
The continuation of strategic cooperation between the two nations in the areas of education also came up for discussion, according to MoD.
Around 700 Afghan cadets have been trained in Turkey and up to one hundred injured soldiers received health services there in 2019. (Pajhwok)
