China Funds Passenger Service Center at Torkham Port

JALALABAD - China has provided 21 million afghanis in assistance for building a passenger service center at Torkham border township in eastern Nangarhar province.
Torkham mayor Eng. Rahat Gul Ziarmal told Pajhwok Afghan News that practical work on building the center would start next week after completion of procurement process for the project.
He said the two-storey center in 450 square meters would include passport, waiting room, information center, mosque, motel, toilets and other important sections.
Ziarmal said they obtained the fund from Chinese Embassy after an agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for building the center.
He thanked Nangarhar governor, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chinese embassy in Kabul for the support and called for more assistance for Torkham port. (Pajhwok)
