KABUL - A court sentenced a soldier of 209th Shaheen Corps to death for deliberately shooting and killing an Army officer in North of Afghanistan.
According to a statement released by 209th Shaheen Corps, the Court sentenced Syed Musa to death on charges of deliberate murder of Major Hashmatullah late in the month of October.
The statement further that Syed Musa broke into the room of Major Hashmatullah late in the month of October and shot the Major six times in the chest using his M16 assault rifle.
Syed Musa committed the crime after he did not receive his salary for three months for being absent from duty, the statement added.
Meanwhile, the court added that the convict has the right to file an appeal as per Article 48 of Penal Code of the Military. (KHAAMA PRESS)
