Forces ‘Will Not Allow’ Violence  in Election: Khalid

KABUL - Asadullah Khalid, acting minister of defense, spoke at an event in Kabul on Sunday and pledged that that the Afghan forces “will never allow violence” in election process.
“We know that our political leaders will not let the election become a crisis,” Khalid said, “if the election possibly went to crisis, we will never allow for violence.”
The Afghan forces have “keep their neutrality in the election process” and will continue to do so, he said.
Khalid also said that the Afghan government has always emphasized peace, but “at the same time we have to preserve the past 18 years’ achievements," Khalid said.
Khalid, who was addressing an event for women in the military, said:
“Any peace that comes to the country will have its conditions, but no one will take away the freedom of Afghan women in the military, or women in non-military roles.”
“A peace that causes another war will not accepted by the people,” he said. (TOLO NEWS)
