KABUL - Afghanistan's government has approved a draft budget for the next fiscal year.
The package was agreed on Tuesday at a cabinet meeting.
The budget totals 428 billion afghanis, of which 289 afghanis are expected to go toward ordinary expenditures, while 139 billion afghanis are for development purposes, said Shamroz Khan Masjidi, a spokesman for finance ministry.
The proposal will be sent to parliament for approval by the end of this week or early next week, he said.
Some economic experts believe that projects in the 2020 budget don’t address people’s needs and much of it depends on foreign aid.
Finance ministry, however, says that allocation in the budget has been done in a balanced manner. (1TV News)
