Ghani Vows Revenge for Innocent Baghlan Lives

KABUL - Reacting to a bomb attack that killed eight civilians in northern Balkh province, President Ashraf Ghani on Monday ordered security forces to avenge the Taliban attack.
At least eight civilians were killed and six others were wounded in the explosion in Dand-i-Shahabuddin area of Pul-i-Khumri, the provincial capital, on Monday.
“The landmine bomb targeted a displaced family that was returning home,” Baghlan police spokesman Javed Ahmad Basharat told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said the victims belonged to the same family and the injured included five children
A statement from the Presidential Palace media’s office received by Pajhwok Afghan News said President Ashraf Ghani strongly condemned the explosion in Baghlan.
The statement quoted as Ghani saying: “Our brave security forces will avenge the innocent lives taken away by Taliban militants and other terrorist groups across the country.”
