Taliban Group Joins  Peace Process in Ghor

FIROZKOH - A six-member Taliban group and their commander have joined the peace process in western Ghor province, an official said on Sunday.
Police spokesman Abdul Sami Nazhad told Pajhwok Afghan News recently dozens of Taliban militants joined the peace process in Chaharsada district of the province.
He said six militants, including their commander, shunned violence and reconciled with the government after their two comrades were killed by a rival commander.
Meanwhile, civil society activists welcomed the development and termed it good message for peace in the country.
Najibullah, a civil society activist in Firozkoh, the provincial capital, termed the surrender of the six Taliban members including their commander as a huge achievement.
He urged all Taliban militants to join the peace process and choose the right way in their life. (Pajhwok)
