EU Supports Honorable Afghan Peace, Presidential Polls

KABUL - President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and European Union Ambassador to Afghanistan Pierre Mayaudon during a meeting discussed a range of issues including presidential election and economic cooperation.
President Ghani on his twitter wrote: in a meeting with Pierre Mayaudon, the EU Ambassador to Afghanistan discussed a range of issues pertaining to expanding ties between AFG and EU, peace process, upcoming presidential elections, and economic and mutual cooperation.
“Ambassador Mayaudon declared support for sustainable and honorable peace in AFG, upholding democratic values and upcoming presidential polls, underlining that EU will remain a steadfast strategic partner and continue to stand with the government and people of Afghanistan,” Ghani said.
“Afghanistan is willing to sustain good and enduring relations with its international partners, particularly the European Union,” said the president while praising the ambassador for his support and the union for its all-inclusive cooperation with AFG in various areas. (Pajwhok)
