560 Samangan  Women Receive Health Kits, Sports Tools

AIBAK - ACTED has provided health kits and sports tools for 560 women and girls in northern Samangan province, an official said on Wednesday.
ACTED has been present in Afghanistan since 1993 , and operates across northern and eastern provinces.
ACTED delivers lifesaving relief to the displaced communities with cash and in-kind assistance, shelters, and water and sanitation infrastructure, whilst contributing to long-term recovery and development by providing education and skills training, investing in agriculture and livelihoods, and strengthening local governance.
Abdul Jamil Amin, ACTED education and training department director in Samangan, told Pajhwok Afghan News 60 girls received sports tools, including balls, bicycles and dresses and 500 women received health kits, including soaps, shampoos, toothpaste, and toothbrushes.
The purpose of distributing such equipment to was adapt culture of urbanization and cleanliness, to prevent the spread of various diseases and physical health, he added.
Amin said women were trained in seven fields, including sewing, baking cakes, learning English language, computer, math and sports in nine months.
Lailuma, 26 , a resident of Kat-i-Sulh area of Aibak, the provincial capital, told Pajhwok she after receiving training in sewing through ACTED organization, all her economic problems were solved.
She said, I have great interest in this field and after completing my course, I would serve the society. (Pajhwok)
