Taliban Driven  from 4 Strategic Faryab Villages

MAIMANA - Security forces have regained control of four strategic villages of Pashtunkot district in northern Faryab province, an official said on Sunday.
Police spokesman Abdul Karim Yourish told Pajhwok Afghan News that the villages were recaptured by joint security forces during an operation launched last week.
He said the operation codenamed “Shaheen 103” was conducted in Zarshoy, Gul Dara, Chaqma and Neshar villages of Pashtunkot district.
He said air forces also supported the ground forces who inflicted casualties on the rebels, but exact number was not immediately available.
He said landmines were also detected and defused in the villages.
