Taliban Have to Respond Positive to  People’s Voice for Peace: Kay

JALALABAD - Attaullah Khogyni governor’s spokesman of eastern Nangarhar province told Pajhwok Afghan News that NATO civilian representative for Afghanistan, Sir Nicholas Kay on Tuesday during his visit to Jalalabad met with Governor Shah Mohmood Miakhel.
He said Kay during his meeting with Miakhel praised governor’s struggle against corruption and terrorism and discussed peace, elections and some other issues.
Governor Shah Mohmood Miakhel shared information with Kay regarding reforms in security and other government institutions, displaced people and preparations for upcoming presidential election.
He said NATO civilian representative for Afghanistan the local Nangarhar administration them fighting against terrorism and corruption and getting measures for presidential poll.
Miakhel stressed on economic development and end to the ongoing conflict, saying the Taliban militants have to enter into intra-Afghan dialogues.
Sir Nicholas Kay was happy visiting Nangarhar for the first time when the security situation in the provinces seems better compared to the past.
He said NATO welcomed peace efforts in Afghanistan as a war-free country was the hope of every Afghan.
Kay called on Taliban to respond positively to the Afghans’ voice for lasting peace in the war-torn country. (Pajhwok)
