Gen. Miller, Khalid Visit Farah Province to Assess Security Situation

KABUL - NATO Resolute Support Commander Gen. Scott Miller and top Afghan security officials, including acting Defence Minister Asadullah Khalid have traveled to western Farah province to review security situation, according to a statement on Monday.
“People are ready to secure their lands from the Taliban,” said Mohiuddin Khairkhwa, Farah provincial police chief. “We have made a lot of success but there is more to do.”
Defence Minister Asadullah Khalid said: “We are here to listen to your challenges and act on those challenges.”
NATO Commander Gen. Miller said the purpose of the trip the west was to meet with the security pillars.
“We came to Farah with the ANDSF leadership to meet with the security leaders supporting the people’s quest for peace,” Miller said.
“Shoulder to shoulder, day and night we stand together,” said Farah provincial governor Shoaib Sabit.
LTG Salvatore Camporeale, Resolute Support deputy commander, MOI Deputy Minister for Security, BG Koshal Sadat were part of the trip. (Pajhwok)
