KABUL - The national unity government is all set to constitute a new team for peace negotiations with the Taliban.
Consultations are ongoing on the composition of a new delegation that will represent the entire country, says the deputy spokesman for the CEO.
ITV quoted Ahmad Omid Maisam as saying on Saturday: “We hope to announce a new delegation (for parleys with Taliban) soon.”
A planned meeting between the Taliban, Afghan politicians and civil society representatives was to be held in Qatar on ways of ending the war.
However, the Taliban expressed their reservations about the size and composition of a 250-member delegation named by Kabul. (Pajhwok)
