KABUL - President Ashraf Ghani has lauded Qatar's consistent efforts for promoting peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan.
The president supported Doha’s role in mediating between Afghan parties and endeavours by the Gulf country to achieve stability in Afghanistan.
According to Gulf Times, Ghani met Dr Mutlaq bin Majid al-Qahtani, special envoy of the Qatar foreign minister, who is currently visiting Afghanistan.
Bilateral relations, ways of expanding cooperation, efforts to achieve peace in Afghanistan and Qatar’s plan to arrange a conference on intra-Afghan dialogue in Doha next month came up for discussion. (Pajhwok)
